God gave us an assurance of His presence and power in our lives. Our God is a powerful God, and with Him, all things are possible. Prayer is talking to God; we should not relent in praying because God is always there to hear and listen to our cries and requests. Not only in our troubled times, but we should also learn to start each day with prayer and continue to pray throughout the day. 1 Peter 5:7 says, “Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.” Let us also confess our sins and forsake them so that we may obtain His mercy.
We need to ask God to heal and deliver us from all forms of sickness and affliction, and let His mercy find us wherever we may be. Matthew 11:28-29 says, “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” Ask Him to consider your situation and lift you from the gates of struggle, sickness, and death. Pray with faith and hope, trust and believe that He has answered your prayers.
Prayer for the Sick and Afflicted with Bible Verses
1. O God, you are the great healer, and all power belongs to you. Break every yoke and bondage of affliction and sickness upon your people. Grant them freedom, perfect peace, sound health, and rest all around, in Jesus’ name.
Isaiah 10:27 “And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.”
2. Dear God, please destroy every spirit of sickness, affliction, sorrow, and death orchestrated by the enemy that seeks to make him/her start this year well but end empty. Grant your people the power to conquer and emerge victorious in every difficult situation, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
2 Corinthians 4:17 “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;”
3. Great Redeemer, deliver your people from every power and stronghold of affliction programmed by the devil to cause them fear and restlessness. May they never fall into the snare of death in Jesus’ name.
2 Samuel 22:28 : “And the afflicted people You will deliver, but your eyes are upon the haughty, whom You will bring down.”
4. Almighty God, lift up your mighty hand of everlasting healing and deliverances and heal the sick people from every form of sickness and infirmities. May lines fall in pleasant places for them, and help them to walk in the light of your ever abiding presence in Jesus’ name.
Psalm 56:13 “For thou hast delivered my soul from death; wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the land of the living?”
5. By the power in your healing, O God, I declare by faith that you will destroy all forms of affliction, and the yoke of sickness and pain will not prevail over the life of your people. May everyone under the chain of long term affliction or terminal disease receive their deliverance and victory in Jesus’ name.
Psalm 129:2 “Many a time and much have they afflicted me from my youth up, yet they have not prevailed against me.”
6. May the God of vengeance turn the life of the afflicted and oppressed for good. Give them honour when they are been despised and disgraced in Jesus’ name.
Isaiah 60:14 “The sons of those who afflicted you shall come bending low to you, and all those who despise you shall bow at your feet, and they shall call you the city of the Lord, the Zion of the Holy one of Israel.”
7. Lord God, annoit the head of the sick with your healing power. Put an everlasting joy and happiness in their lives and prepare a table for the afflicted and oppressed in the presence of their enemies.
Psalm 23:5-6 “Thou prepares a table before me in the presence of my enemies: thou anointest my head with oil, my cup runneth over….”
8. O Lord, let every sickness and affliction disappear completely from your people, let the days of sorrow and affliction come to a permanent end in Jesus’ name.
Nahum 1:12 “Thus says the Lord: Though they be in full strength and likewise many, even so shall (the Assyrians) be cut down when (their evil counselor) shall pass away. Though I have afflicted you (Jerusalem), I will not cause you to be afflicted anymore.”
9. Everlasting God, may all the afflicted be happy and glad again. Grant that they may live healthy, strong and peacefully starting from now in Jesus name.
Psalm 22:26 “The poor and afflicted shall eat and be satisfied; they shall praise the Lord – they who (diligently) seek for, inquire of and for Him and require Him (as their greatest need) may your hearts be quickened now and forever.”
10. O God, remove every filthy garment of sickness and infirmity put on your people by the devil and decorate them with peace and tranquility.
Job 36:15 “He delivers the afflicted in their affliction and opens their ears (to His voice) in adversity.”
All power belongs to God. He can move mountains and even raise the dead; Therefore, your situation will not be different. Don’t relent in calling upon Him to come and take over all that concerns you. He raised Lazarus from the dead and healed the woman with the issue of blood. His miracles and wonders are countless. He is our ever-present help; therefore, surrender all to Him and be at rest.
