Uses of Carrot oil
Carrots
Carrot is a great root vegetable. Its uses are enormous. Carrot can be used for preparing salads, eaten like that and most importantly carrot have been shown to be useful in creams and other things most especially when its oil is being extracted because it contains useful ingredients and also of medicinal importance.
I am going to tell you the various ways you can make carrot oil conveniently in your home. There are two major ways by which you can achieve this, which are;
- Cold pressed method
- Heat method
Things Required
For the two methods, the things you need are;
- 3 bulbs of Carrot or more depending on the quantity you need.
- Knife; For peeling the back of the Carrot.
- Grater
- Your desired oil Eg; Shea butter, coconut oil, olive oil etc
- Bowl; For putting the grated carrot
- Frying Pan and heat source (When using the heat method)
- Sieve
- Container, where you will store the oil
Cold pressed method
As the name implies, this method of making carrot oil does not involve direct heat. The steps are as follows;
- Get your carrots
- Wash them properly to remove sand
- Scrape or peel the back of the carrot
- Grate the carrot
- Put it in a bowl or any other container that has cover
- Get your desired oil, it can either be coconut oil, almond oil or olive oil.
- Pour it inside the container that you put your grated carrot and make sure that the oil cover the carrot completely.
- Then, cover the container tightly
- Place the container where sun can easily get to it
- Stir the mixture every three days
- Leave for two weeks, and sieve to get your Carrot oil

Heat method
These are the steps required to achieve this;
- Get your carrots.
- Wash them properly to remove sand.
- Peel the back of the carrot.
- Grate it.
- Put it in a frying pan.
- Cover with your desired oil.
- Fry it on a low heat, continue frying until the carrot becomes tender and the oil changes to orange colour.
- Bring it down and allow to cool.
- Sieve and put it in your storage container.

Uses of Carrot oil
After making your carrot oil at home, you can make use of it in various ways;
- You can use Carrot oil to clear wrinkles and stretch marks
- Carrot oil can be used as a hair cream, it promotes hair growth, makes hair to shine, moisturizes and also strengthens the hair.
- You can use Carrot oil as a body cream.
- It makes your skin to look smoother and younger when applied.
- It prevents sunburn and also tightens skin pores.
- It can also be used to treat various skin infections.
